The power of poetry. The pursuit of justice. The movement toward the transformation of people and societies.

Tell your friends ‘bout this.

And be sure you don’t miss

This chance to feel the bliss

As I dismiss all mental paralysis

And raise your level of critical analysis!

--from the self-titled poem, “Analysis”

Using the poetic arts and his background in education, justice and human rights pursuits, Analysis will:

ENGAGE your audience in the power and enjoyment of language, written and spoken

RAISE individual and collective levels of critical analysis

CHALLENGE people of all faith paths or no particular faith path to make this “on earth as it is in heaven” [Matt. 6:10]

HELP your group members better understand the Struggle, and discern their places in it

ENCOURAGE people to enjoy the dynamism that life offers mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually!

Red Emma’s Mother Earth Poetry Vibe

In the tradition of Emma Goldman’s “Mother Earth” magazine, Red Emma's Mother Earth Poetry Vibe is the DMV's quarterly venue of “Peace, Justice, Poetry!”, welcoming to the open mic poets of all levels of experience—and showcasing top-notch features—to address matters of justice and human rights, conscious thought, the upliftment of the village and the advancement of the Struggle!  The Vibe is hosted by Analysis, and takes place the first Saturdays of February, May, August and November at Red Emma's Bookstore Coffeehouse, a worker cooperative and family of projects in Baltimore (including a radical independent bookstore and vegan/vegetarian restaurant) dedicated to autonomy, sustainability, participatory democracy, and solidarity!

The air in this venue is different—it shakes! –Hiram Larew, poet
